Swedish Massage

This massage uses light to medium pressure, along with long gliding strokes.  It is also combined with kneading to prevent pain and stress.  Use of either scented or unscented oil as client requests.

Deep Tissue

This massage is based on the needs of your body.  Just as the name suggests, the massage goes much deeper into the body.  It is also combined with some softer techniques as well.  This massage is used to try and rid your body of trigger points (knots), which are the culprits of most of our pains.  I will work with you to make sure that the deepness of the massage is not too much for "your" body.

Sports Massage

This massage is good for either the weekend warrior, the elite athlete, or anything in between.  This massage uses compressions, stretches, cross fiber friction, as well as general massage techniques, to help relax the muscles.  It help keep your muscles supple and injury free.  You are better able to keep up your training because it quickly rids you of the lactic acid, which is a by-product of the muscles after working out, which is the culprit of pain.  This massage can be done either pre or post workout.

Pregnancy Massage

This can only be done from the 2nd trimester on.  You MUST have a M.D.'s note stating that you do not have any complications.  By complications, I mean, no hypertension, no multiple birth, no history of miscarriage, and no other complications in any of your other pregnancies.  The massage is done side lying, and you are propped comfortably with pillows.  Mother's to be find this very relaxing .  It helps the muscles which are aching due to the extra weight and also is good for edema.  It gives you a great sense of well being.

Chair Massage

This is a massage done in a special chair.  It is done off site, in office, at special events, home parties.  It is done fully clothed and NO oil is ever used.  The massages usually last 15 -20 minutes.  Studies have been done to show that office workers have a greater work production and better morale after receiving the chair massage.  It also prevents repetitive motion issues and other problems related to sitting, using a computer, or jobs that are physically demanding.  It is a great way to reward your hard working employees, or used as a bonus.  Some offices have someone on a weekly basis for prevention.

Reiki Treatments ( Energy Healing)

This treatment is done fully clothed with NO oils.  It can be done either sitting or lying down.  The universal energy is transferred into the client by the Reiki Practitioners hands placed in various positions on the body. It is very subtle and very relaxing.  There is no danger of unbalancing someone, as with other forms of energy work since the energy enters the body and heads off to where it is needed the most.  It is healing either spiritually, physically, or emotionally.  This is not dictated by the practitioner, or the person receiving it. It is rather dictated by the body itself.  This is a great way to put balance and relaxation back into your life.

Massage Cupping

Massage Cupping is a modern version of an ancient healing practice.  By creating suction, and negative pressure with the use of clear plastic cups placed on various parts of the body, (most commonly the back), it draws out toxins, loosens adhesions, brings blood to stagnant areas and stimulates the peripheral nervous system.  Sometimes the cups are dragged up and down the area, creating a massage-like effect.  It is an awesome modality, which I discovered during an acupuncture treatment.  Clients should be warned however that they may experience some purple circles after the treatment that look like bruising, but does not hurt.  One of my favorite treatments.
